Projects have their own life. We need to keep reiterating this. They evolve over time. On occasion, through intentional changes or through simple mishaps which must be dealt with sooner or later.

For these last-minute changes, we have Testing Mode simulations or scenarios where you can do all the tests you need to see the impact of the changes prior to implementing them in your project.

However, going back to monitoring tools, SInnaps includes four basic features to use in any project. We can get there from the bottom of the planning using these icons.

Left to right: project summary, project wall, project performance, team and project roles.

  • Project Summary or Overview: here we have a list of all project activities and their most important characteristics. We can see how each of them is evolving at a glance.
  • Project wall: everything going on in your project, the changes made to activities, is recorded in this log.
  • Project performance: through techniques based on Earned Value Management (EVM) we can know if we’re doing well or if particular aspects of the project need changing. You can see how to interpret matters and all the metrics in this article: Earned Value Management and how to use it in project management.
  • Team and project roles: find the people involved in the project and give them a role. Thus, you can invite new users.
